01 EndoFLIP Technology

Flip the Future – Bangalore & Mumbai

Dr. Sanil Parekh participated in the “Flip the Future” meetings by Medtronic in Bangalore and Mumbai, bringing together leading gastroenterologists for discussions around evolving endoscopy technology and clinical practice.

What Dr. Sanil Parekh did

  • Participated in academic discussions with Prof. Bu Hayee, Prof. Schopmann and gastroenterologists from Bangalore and Mumbai.
  • Delivered a talk on his early-adopter experience with FLIP Technology.
  • Shared the routine use of EndoFLIP at the Institute of Gastrosciences, Sir H. N. Reliance Hospital, for POEM in Achalasia Cardia.
  • Discussed how EndoFLIP can help tailor the extent of myotomy and support efforts to reduce post-POEM reflux.

Endobridge 2026 – India to the UK

At Endobridge 2026, organised by the British Society of Gastroenterology, Dr. Sanil Parekh was part of an Indian advanced-endoscopy faculty contributing live cases and knowledge exchange with colleagues in the United Kingdom.

What Dr. Sanil Parekh did

  • Joined an advanced endoscopy team that included Dr. Amit Maydeo, Dr. Amol Bapaye, Dr. Zaheer Nabi, Kapil Jamwal and Dr. Philip Mathews.
  • Participated in relaying advanced endoscopy cases from India to the UK.
  • Demonstrated a live POEM – Per Oral Endoscopic Myotomy case using the new EndoFLIP system.
  • Contributed to an international exchange of advanced endoscopy knowledge and expertise.

Nairobi Gastro International Conference & Africa Live

Dr. Sanil Parekh was invited to the 4th Nairobi Gastro International Conference and the 1st Nairobi-Africa Live, where he took part in live procedures, teaching, demonstrations and an international advanced-endoscopy programme.

What Dr. Sanil Parekh did

  • Performed a live Per Oral Endoscopic Myotomy (POEM) case.
  • Performed band ligation for large esophageal varices.
  • Delivered a lecture on “The Basics of POEM”.
  • Demonstrated Endoscopic Ultrasound basics and EUS-FNB cases.
  • Participated as co-faculty in a live migrated CBD stent case performed by Dr. Nageshwar Reddy.
  • Moderated a live endoscopy session featuring advanced cases by international experts.
  • Was part of the team during the programme in which Dr. Amit Maydeo performed the first POEM in sub-Saharan Africa.

Dr. Sanil Parekh spent two weeks at the Osaka International Cancer Institute in Japan with Prof. Noriya Uedo, further developing his understanding of advanced imaging and endoscopic resection of early gastrointestinal cancers.
